HAMPTONS REAL ESTATE, SOUTHAMPTON, NY: December 2010

WHAT HAPPENED??? I HAVE 4 DEALS GOING AND IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME IN THE HAMPTONS!!!

OH! CHRISTMAS TREE...WHAT'S HAPPENED??? I HAVE 4 DEALS GOING AND IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME IN THE HAMPTONS!!! Never have I had customers during the Holidays---especially at Hannuka or Christmas time. Yet, here I am at 3:00 in the afternoon waiting for an architect, to meet him at a house that I just may get an offer on.

This is the 3rd deal in the last 2 weeks and there are more in the pipeline....I don't want to stop! I have WINTER TIME HOUSING been waiting for this moment for 3 years and now it appears we have hit the bottom and are slowly but surely beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. The Hamptons is notoriously empty at the Holiday time--especially the real estate offices! This is the time to travel for many agents. I remain here, hard at work and there are buyers out there!

Since September 18, 2008, I have been watching as deals barely came together, maybe 2 good deals a year and that was it!! Now, I have to stay around because someone is apt to pop up out here, just to find a house. I had a young couple come from Texas last Friday, just to spend a half day to find a house, and they did!!! This is so unlike the Hamptons that I am almost suspicious; at least I would be suspicious except I haven't had time to give it much thought because I have been so busy!

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE!How long will this go on? Will I be showing houses on Christmas Eve??? Will I have customers bidding on houses through the New Year?.........I certainly hope so......!!
